The Philadelphia Eagles will welcome the San Francisco 49ers to town in Week 13. The Eagles offense has been one of the better units in the league and has a 10-1 record to show for it. They have had success even without tight end Dallas Goedert, who has been sidelined for the last few weeks after getting surgery on his forearm.
Dallas Goedert injury updates
Friday PM update: Goedert was limited on Friday and being listed as doubtful to face the 49ers. That designation almost always means the player won’t play and in this case it shows the team just isn’t ready to risk their starting tight end so soon after surgery.
Friday update: Goedert is back at practice for the first time since his surgery.
Thursday update: Goedert still not practicing on Thursday.
Wednesday update: Goedert isn’t practicing to begin the week. He has missed the team’s last two games but wasn’t added to IR in the hopes he can return ahead of the team’s Week 15 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy football analysis
Goedert has played in nine games and has brought in 38 of his 52 targets for 410 yards and two touchdowns. His role in the offense is secured, though, as no tight end has been able to step up and make up for his absence. Jack Stoll has been the backup, but only has 27 yards on four receptions in 11 games.
Goedert isn’t likely to play this week. On the off chance that he does suit up, he doesn’t have a good matchup. San Francisco allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. For now, don’t start Goedert or Stoll this week and look at adding Goedert back to your lineups in Week 14 if he is healthy.
