Kenneth Walker III is dealing with an oblique injury headed into Week 13 Thursday Night Football. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting.

Game status update: Walker is officially INACTIVE for Thursday night’s game against Dallas.

While Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker has been one of the steadiest runnings back in the NFL this season, his status is in doubt for Thursday night’s matchup against the Cowboys. Here’s a look at how his injury will impact tonight’s game.

Kenneth Walker III injury

Fantasy football analysis

With Walker out, Zach Charbonnet will step into the starting role for the Seahawks. That doesn’t mean that he should be starting in your fantasy lineup however. Charbonnet’s rushed for 47 yards in two straight games (despite getting 14 and 15 carries in those games, respectively), and now is going against a stingy Cowboys defense.

NFL DFS analysis

Charbonnet ($5,300) and backup Deejay Dallas ($4,400) are both discount options with Walker ($6,300) out, but I still wouldn’t start either of them in DFS. Instead, I’d start Cowboys running back Tony Pollard ($6,800) and then add a value wideout like Brandin Cooks ($4,900).

Betting analysis

The Cowboys are now nine-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook after opening as seven-point favorites, which is in large part to Walker’s injury. The Cowboys are 8-3-1 against the spread this season (which is tied for the best record ATS in the NFL) and have won three straight games by at least 23 points.
