The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night for their Week 13 matchup and running back Travis Etienne is dealing with a rib cartilage injury. He briefly exited last Sunday’s victory over the Houston Texans, but eventually returned to the action.
Travis Etienne injury updates
Friday update: Etienne was limited again on Friday due to his rib injury. He will have another day of practice on Saturday to try and avoid an injury designation heading into Monday.
Thursday PM update: Some good news, as Etienne was listed as limited on the practice report. That’s a great sign for his availability this week.
Thursday update: ESPN’s Michael DiRocco reported that Etienne was not spotted during the open portion of Thursday’s practice. With the game being on Monday, there’s still plenty of time for him to return to the practice field in time for Monday’s contest.
Fantasy football analysis
Etienne has been a vital cog in the Jaguars’ offense and his potential absence could dramatically alter their offensive gameplan. He’s recorded 726 rushing yards, 312 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns through 11 games this season and enters Week 13 as the No. 3 fantasy running back. If he misses Monday’s game, expect backups Tank Bigsby and D’Ernest Johnson to handle the load.
If Etienne isn’t able to go, then I’d hammer the over on Trevor Lawrence pass attempts. He’d most likely have to carry the offense with his arm.
