The Los Angeles Chargers will take on the New England Patriots in Week 13. The Chargers have been dealing with injuries to their receiving corps all season. Joshua Palmer has been sidelined due to a knee injury and is eligible to be activated from injured reserve. He has been hurt since Week 9, and Los Angeles has gone 1-3 since he was added to IR.
Joshua Palmer injury updates
Wednesday, Dec. 6 update: Palmer has been designated to return from I.R. This gives him a 21 day window to return to the field.
Thursday update: Palmer is eligible to be activated off of IR. Head coach Brandon Staley said that there is a chance that he will come back this season, which doesn’t make it sound like Week 13 will happen.
Fantasy football analysis
Palmer is an interesting piece of the Chargers’ passing attack that will be returning. Kennan Allen is banged up, and Mike Williams is out for the year due to a torn ACL. Los Angeles hoped that rookie Quentin Johnston would be able to move into the WR2 role, and it hasn’t gone the way they hoped. He has 21 receptions through 11 games, but some really bad drops.
Palmer could be a sneaky add to stash for when he is back, but the lack of definitive comments from Staley makes it tough to do now. I’d wait until the timeline is clearer or Palmer’s 21-day practice window gets activated to stash him.
