The New England Patriots will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13. The Patriots offense has struggled this season, and it may not get easier in this matchup. They have a good matchup, but their best wide receiver, Demario Douglas, is dealing with an injury. Despite saying after the team’s Week 12 game that he didn’t suffer a concussion, Douglas is not practicing to begin the week.

Demario Douglas injury updates

Friday update: Douglas has been officially ruled out for Week 13 due to a concussion. Kayshon Boutte is also out, so we likely will see work concentrated for JuJu Smith-Schuster and DeVante Parker.

Thursday update: Douglas remains in the league’s concussion protocol and didn’t practice on Thursday.

Wednesday update: Douglas is not practicing on Wednesday and is, in fact, in the league’s concussion protocol.

Fantasy football analysis

Douglas has played in 10 games and has 310 yards on 36 receptions. It may not be an exciting stat line, but he is the best option for the Patriots after teammate Kendrick Bourne suffered a season-ending injury. He has yet to find the endzone, but his target share has made him worth a start in 12-team leagues or larger when he is healthy.

The Chargers’ defense allows the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Even with the opportunity, there isn’t a wide receiver I feel comfortable trusting this week. DeVante Parker could be a play in leagues with more than 14 teams or as a DFS dart throw.
