Dameon Pierce is ACTIVE for Week 12 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans published their Week 12 inactives report, and Dameon Pierce is ACTIVE for their matchup against the Jaguars. We break down what it means.

Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce is active for their Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pierce has missed three games with an ankle injury, but it hasn’t hurt the teams success as they were 3-0 in the three games that he missed. It will be interesting to see how big his role is in his first game back.

In seven games, Pierce has 109 carries for 327 yards and one touchdown. Many expected a breakout season from him, but that just hasn’t been the case. CJ Stroud has broken out instead. It’s fair to think that a rookie quarterback would have some struggles and the running back would carry the load.

I would not start Pierce in fantasy today. Devin Singletary was playing great while he was out. In those three games, Singletary had 65 carries for 288 yards and two touchdowns. The Jaguars have been a top five team against running backs this season. They’re allowing 12.8 fantasy points to opposing running backs per game which is tied for the 5th least. If any running back on Houston has a solid day against Jacksonville, I would expect it to be Singletary.
