Marquise Brown is dealing with a heel injury for Week 12. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting.

Game status update: Brown is ACTIVE for Sunday’s game against the Rams.

Game day update: Marquise Brown is “hopeful” to play, per Ian Rapoport and “expected” to play, Adam Schefter.

The Arizona Cardinals could be without wide receiver Marquise Brown when they host the Los Angeles Rams in the late afternoon slot on Sunday. Brown is listed as questionable with a heel injury. After getting in a limited practice on Wednesday, he was downgraded for Thursday and Friday, sitting out both days. That’s usually not a great sign for a player’s availability, so keep an eye on the news heading into Arizona’s Week 12 matchup.

Marquise Brown injury

Fantasy football analysis

Since Kyler Murray’s return, Brown’s been something of the odd man out in Arizona’s offense. He’s had a grand total of three catches for 46 yards in those two games. Knowing his ceiling, Brown’s a risky option for a WR3 or flex spot in lineups. Though you should probably leave him out of your lineups this week given his injury status.

NFL DFS analysis

At $5,200 in DraftKings leagues right now, Brown’s the most expensive receiver on Arizona’s roster. A better play for this week would be Rondale Moore, who’s seeing a consistent target volume with Murray under center, and he’ll only set you back $3,600. Tight end Trey McBride has been Murray’s preferred target since returning, leading the team with 13 catches and 174 yards over the last two.

Betting analysis

The Rams are favored by 2.5 points in this one. Brown’s presence on the field forces a defense to account for him, so his absence certainly benefits the Rams, even if he’s not getting much work in Arizona’s passing game these days.
