Monday update: Johnston could have returned to Sunday night’s game, but the team decided to keep him sidelined, per Alex Insdorf. You know things are going badly when Alex Erickson is playing ahead of you. Johnston will need to step up his game to get back in the good graces of the coaching staff.

Update: It appears that Johnston didn’t return to the game, but there was never an injury announcement. We should learn more after the game.

Quentin Johnston landed hard on his shoulder area while trying to make a catch over the middle on Sunday night against the Ravens. He was able to walk off the field and went into the medical tent. The Chargers trail the Ravens 13-3 as we close in on the 4th quarter.

The first round pick has not lived up to the billing as of yet, but injuries to Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer have pushed him into more playing time. A bad drop in Week 11 is his most memorable moment of late, but there’s still plenty of time to turn things now, as he’s still a rookie.
