New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas has exited today’s Week 12 matchup against the New York Giants with a head injury and is doubtful to return.

Demario Douglas injury updates

Update: Douglas has been ruled out for the rest of today’s contest.

As you can see in the video above, Douglas suffered the injury after taking a forearm to the head early in the fourth quarter. The rookie was ruled as doubtful quickly afterwards and will most likely undergo further testing for a concussion.

This is a big blow to a struggling Patriots offense as they find themselves in a one-score scrap with the Giants deep into the fourth quarter. Douglas had a productive afternoon prior to the hit, catching six of nine targets for 49 yards. The rookie has put up decent numbers in his first year in New England, catching 30 passes for 361 yards. He caught a season-high six targets for 84 yards in their loss to the Colts two weeks ago.
