Green Bay Packers RB AJ Dillon is active for Week 12 vs. the Detroit Lions at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving. Dillon entered the game questionable to play due to a groin injury sustained last week in the win over the Chargers. The Packers won’t have top RB Aaron Jones, who is sidelined with a knee injury, also suffered last week. We go over the fantasy football and betting impact.
Fantasy football impact: AJ Dillon injury
With Aaron Jones out, Dillon is expected to be the lead running back for the Packers. His efficiency as the primary back has been concerning, and he hasn’t been able to rip off any massive runs for most of the season. He’s worth starting as a flex play simply due to the potential volume he’ll receive, but the Packers might lean more into the passing game in this contest.
Dillon being active won’t shift the odds much, since the Packers were already significant underdogs with Jones being ruled out. However, Dillon scoring a touchdown (+140) could be worth backing because he’ll get touches in the red zone and near the goal line.
