The Washington Commanders will take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East battle in Week 12. Washington heads into this game with a 4-7 record and looking to play spoiler against the 7-3 Cowboys. The Commanders’ offense has been more pass-heavy this season, which has left the running game behind. Brian Robinson Jr. has taken over the backfield, but backup RB Antonio Gibson has recently been dealing with a toe injury.
Antonio Gibson injury updates
Wednesday update: Gibson has been listed as questionable on Washington’s final injury report ahead of Thursday’s game.
Fantasy football analysis
The days of Gibson leading this backfield seem to be long gone. Robinson has played in 11 games and has 558 yards and five touchdowns. Gibson has 137 rushing yards on 30 carries in 10 games. His lone value comes in some form of PPR league, where Gibby has 30 receptions for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson still eclipses him with 27 receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns.
Gibson heads into this matchup as the overall RB40 in half-PPR scoring and the RB36 in full PPR. The Cowboys’ defense allows the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. This will be the first matchup against Dallas for him this season, but even if he is active, he is too risky of a play unless you are in 14-team leagues or larger. There are no teams on bye this week so you should be able to find a better matchup somewhere.
