Could Seahawks WR DK Metcalf miss Seattle’s pivotal Week 12 matchup on Thanksgiving night against the San Francisco 49ers?

The star receiver missed practice on Tuesday with a toe injury, according to the team.

D.K. Metcalf injury updates

Wednesday update: Metcalf is off the final injury report and is good to go for Thursday’s game.

Tuesday update: Metcalf was a new addition to the team’s injury report, which is never a great sign for a player’s availability — especially on a short week. Metcalf was not listed on the Monday injury report despite dealing with rib and hip injuries this season.

We can pump the brakes on Metcalf missing the game, though. Due to the Seahawks playing on a short week, the practice report is an estimation as Seattle didn’t have a full practice.

Fantasy football analysis

Metcalf is coming off of one of his best performances of a somewhat disappointing season, notching five catches (on nine targets) for 94 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. That’s coming off another strong game in which he hauled in seven catches for 98 yards. Losing Metcalf this week could potentially halt the momentum of his upward trajectory.

That being said, Metcalf does have a tough matchup against a resurgent Niners defense, and Metcalf’s QB, Geno Smith, is dealing with a triceps injury which could hurt the team’s passing output. Couple that with playing on Thursday, and Metcalf’s Week 12 outlook looks dicey at best.
