The Seattle Seahawks will host the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving night this Thursday and the status of running back Kenneth Walker III is unknown ahead of the matchup. Walker exited the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Rams with an oblique injury and never returned to the contest.
Kenneth Walker III injury updates
Wednesday update: We will get an update on Walker’s practice status later in the day, but he is being listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game against the 49ers.
Tuesday update: Walker missed practice on Tuesday with an oblique injury. It’s unlikely that Walker will play.
Monday PM update: Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday that Walker is not a candidate to go on IR and they’ll need to learn more about his injury. Carroll bringing up IR potentially indicates that while Walker won’t be shelved for an entire month, he could miss some time due to this injury.
Fantasy football analysis
Walker’s potential absence could be a huge blow to both the Seahawks and fantasy managers alike. With 613 rushing yards and six touchdowns this season, he enters Week 12 as the No. 7 fantasy running back in standard leagues. If he’s not able to suit up for Thursday’s game, rookie backup Zach Charbonnet will handle the ball-carrying duties for the Seahawks. Charbonnet is rostered in just 38.1% of fantasy leagues, so he should be available on most waiver wires.
