Game-day update: Achane is active as expected. Play him in all formats.
After putting together an impressive string of games, Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has been out of action since Week 5 with a knee injury. He’s got a chance to get back on the field for a Week 11 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Achane was limited in practice all week, ending up with a questionable designation. Head coach Mike McDaniel sounded hopeful about the rookie’s chances of playing this week, but we may have to wait until Sunday morning to get confirmation. The Dolphins at home against the Raiders with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
De’Von Achane injury
Fantasy football analysis
In just four games prior to his injury, Achane rolled up 460 yards and five touchdowns on just 38 carries. He also had 67 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions.
Raheem Mostert has been handling most of the work out of the backfield since Achane’s been out, sharing some minimal time lately with Jeff Wilson. He’s been solid covering for the rookie, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt and scoring five total touchdowns.
It’s hard to know exactly what kind of workload Achane will see if he plays this week. But he’s proven that he doesn’t need a lot of touches to make magic happen. Plus, the Raiders are ranked 25th in fantasy scoring against opposing running backs.
NFL DFS analysis
At just $6,600 in DraftKings leagues this week, Achane is worth a flyer in DFS lineups this week. His ceiling is just too high to ignore. Mostert is still valuable too, thanks to the matchup and the likelihood that he’ll still be splitting touches with the rookie.
The Dolphins shouldn’t have much trouble with the Raiders with or without Achane. They’re 13.5-point favorites. He’s not on the board for rushing props right now, but even if he is active, I still would take the over on 56.5 rushing yards for Mostert in this one.
