Friday update: Justin Fields got in a limited practice on Friday, marking the third straight such practice. He is listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report for Sunday against the Jets.

Wednesday PM update: Justin Fields met with the media and provided some details on his injury. It is not dislocated, but rather separated with a partial ligament tear. As Patrick Finley noted, it’s the same as an A/C joint sprain. He also said if the game was on Wednesday, he wouldn’t be able to play, but he has the rest of the week to see how he recovers, per Dan Wiederer.

Wednesday update: Fields is going to be listed as limited in practice during what will be a walkthrough, per Adam Jahns. Earlier this week, Ian Rapoport reported Fields had a dislocated shoulder, but Adam Schefter later tweeted that it was a shoulder injury but not a dislocation. It’s unclear what any of this means for Fields’ status on Sunday against the Jets.

Monday update: Fields officially has a dislocated shoulder, which seems to suggest he won’t practice to start Week 12 preparations. Trevor Siemien is the backup quarterback for the Bears in the events Fields is formally ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is considered “day-to-day,” per Mark Grote. Head coach Matt Eberflus didn’t go into much detail and we can expect that Fields has undergone some testing on this Monday. We will probably need to wait until Wednesday to see if he can practice before worrying too much.

Fields was allowed to talk to the press after their loss to the Falcons and he wasn’t wearing a sling, so it’s likely not a long term injury. But, with Fields putting up so many yards and points as a runner, any injury that could curtail his running could be detrimental.

Fantasy football implications for Week 12

With Khalil Herbert on I.R. and the team wanting to limit Fields’ passing attempts, that ended up meaning more rushing attempts for Fields, as he ended the day with 18. If this injury lingers, we probably can’t expect that many attempts this week against a good Jets defense.
