Update: Cooks is officially inactive for Thursday Night Football vs. the Eagles in Week 9.

Game day update: Brandin Cooks reportedly will not play against the Eagles. He’s sitting out because he’s upset the Texans were unable to trade him before the deadline on Tuesday. Per reports, Houston was asking a hefty haul for Cooks, one that included second- and fourth-round picks back for the wide receiver.

Game day update: Cooks appears very questionable to play, with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero saying, “It’s difficult to believe Brandin Cooks will play tonight.” If he can’t go, Phillip Dorsett would likely be the main target for Davis Mills in a game where they will likely trail by a lot.

Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks didn’t practiced Tuesday or Wednesday, per Aaron Wilson. He has been noticeable displeased with his situation in Houston and the inability of the Texans to trade him appears to have been the boiling point. He is listed as questionable and his injury is “wrist/not injury relate,” so it’s anybodies guess as to his true status for Thursday Night Football.

Fantasy football implications for Week 9

If Cooks does play, he is the only receiver worth playing in fantasy for Houston. If he doesn’t play, there isn’t much to hang our hats on with Nico Collins out with a groin injury, but, Phillip Dorsett appears to be the next man up for their No. 1 wide receiver. The tight end work is all over the place and not one single player is worth starting.
