Sometimes, things work out exactly the way they are supposed to. And for Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant, Tuesday was one of those times.
The star capped off an impressive performance against the New Orleans Pelicans with a game-winning buzzer beater to give Memphis the 115-113 edge in his first game back from a 25-game suspension. Take a look.
The Grizzlies easily covered as 8.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook, although that number fluctuated throughout the day with Zion Williamson’s status up in the air due to an illness. Williamson would end up playing. The game went just under the total of 230. Morant finished with 34 points, eight assists and six rebounds, hitting the over on his points prop of 27.5 and his combined PRA prop of 37.5.
It’s still a big climb for Memphis to get back into playoff contention in the West, with this being just the seventh win for the Grizzlies this season. However, Morant’s return has clearly sparked something within this team to make them believe they can go on a big run to close out the season.
