NBA suspends Warriors PF Draymond Green indefinitely after latest ejection

We might not see Green on a court for the rest of the 2023-24 season.

The NBA has decided to suspend Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely after his latest ejection, a move that could potentially mean Green is done for the rest of the season.

Green was tossed from Tuesday’s game against the Suns after he hit center Jusuf Nurkic in the head while spinning around on a post-up move. Green may claim he was attempting to sell a foul, but he clearly exaggerated his motion and caught Nurkic with his hand on the follow through. Here’s the video again for those who might not have seen it.

This is the second suspension for Green this season and his third ejection. His status as a repeat offender has absolutely factored into this decision from the league. There’s a paragraph in the statement about Green having to meet certain team and league conditions to return to play.

This leaves the Warriors, who are 10-13 on the year, in a tough spot. While Green’s defense has slipped over the last few years, he does still have plenty of respect from that locker room and his defensive IQ should eventually turn things around on that side of the ball. He hasn’t been good this year, especially with the ejections, but it’s hard to think Golden State would be better without him.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Warriors are +2000 to win the NBA title. It’s hard to feel confident about that wager with Green sit to miss significant time.
