One of the more popular players during the last two seasons of college basketball has found a landing spot, as Mac McClung has signed a training camp deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While the deal doesn’t mean he’ll for sure be a part of the Lakers 15-man roster next season, it does mean he’ll continue to get an opportunity to prove himself for what might be the favored team in the Western Conference next season.
McClung wasn’t selected to the surprise of a few in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he’s had a good Summer League so far. After averaging 15.5 points per game for the Red Raiders last season, he had 10 points, four rebounds, a block and two turnovers just over 20 minutes against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
McClung for the tie!

The Gate City, Virginia product should have some family experience to get him through the professional game, as his uncle is former MLB player Seth McClung who played six seasons for the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers.
