New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau will pick up some hardware this season after all.
Thibodeau was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Knicks to a 41-31 season and their first playoff appearance in eight seasons. He previously won the honor with the Chicago Bulls in 2011. The Bulls lost to the Miami Heat in the conference finals that season.
Suns head coach Monty Williams received the NBCA Coach of the Year award, but Thibodeau took the league’s honor. Quin Snyder was also in the running after leading the Utah Jazz to the No. 1 seed in the Western conference.
The Knicks were bounced out of the first round of the playoffs by the Atlanta Hawks 4-1.
