The No. 1 seed Utah Jazz will face the No. 4 seed Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. The Jazz won four straight games against the Memphis Grizzlies after dropping Game 1 to win their series in five games. The Jazz were missing All-Star G Donovan Mitchell for Game 1 and he’s averaging 28.5 points per game since returning from an ankle sprain.
The Clippers were in trouble down 3-2 in their series with the Dallas Mavericks in the first round. Kawhi Leonard scored 45 points in Game 6 to force Game 7 on Sunday afternoon. The Clippers were able to hold off Luka Doncic and pick up the big Game 7 win at home to clinch the series. Leonard nearly put up a triple-double in the series-clinching game. Now, LA will have to face the No. 1 seed in the West to have a shot at advancing to the Finals.
The Jazz defeated the Clippers in two of three games during the regular season. In LA’s lone win over Utah, it was a pretty evenly matched 116-112 victory, so we should expect a tight series between two teams who have the best odds to make it to the NBA Finals out of the West.
