After seemingly “finding their groove” in Game 3s and 4, the Clippers promptly blew home-court advantage again in a Game 5 loss. Los Angeles made a furious rally at the end of the game, but Kawhi Leonard’s potential tying shot missed everything. Leonard was off in the game, going 7-19 from the field. Paul George was spectacular, but the Clippers will need another road win to keep their season alive.
The Mavericks will look to reverse the trend of road teams winning every game in the series. Luka Doncic looked like his old self despite still dealing with a neck injury, scoring 42 points and dishing 14 assists in the 105-100 Game 5 win. Doncic will once again be tasked with carrying the team in a crucial Game 6 at home. Kristaps Porzingis could use a big game as well after tallying only eight points in Game 5.
