Jordan Clarkson has won Sixth Man of the Year. The Utah Jazz guard has been one of the NBA’s best bench players all year and received the award courtesy of his teammate, Joe Ingles, who was also one of the three finalists in the running. Ingles presented the award on TNT as a surprise ahead of Monday’s playoff matchup between the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks.
Clarkson was the odds-on favorite at -200 when the three finalists were announced. He held an edge over Ingles (+140) and the New York Knicks’ Derrick Rose (+10000). Clarkson was the most consistent player of the group throughout the year and was a major contributor for the team that secured the league’s best record when the regular season came to a close.
Clarkson averaged a career-high 18.4 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He led the NBA in bench points.
