Minnesota Timberwolves G D’Angelo Russell will return to the lineup for Monday’s game vs. the Sacramento Kings, The Athletic reported. Russell has been sidelined since Feb. 8 due to a knee injury that required surgery. Since then, the Timberwolves season has pretty much been over. D’Lo’s return could eventually mean less scoring opportunities for Rookie of the Year favorite Anthony Edwards, who is +100 to win the award.

Chances are that statement above won’t happen right away. Russell will likely be on a minutes limit, though he should return to the starting lineup you’d think. Ricky Rubio and Malik Beasley are both doubtful to play vs. Sacramento. Minnesota will need Russell in the back court with Edwards against the Kings. Russell ($6,200) probably isn’t a viable DFS option right now. Edwards still should be a solid GPP play at $7,600.

The Timberwolves are +4.5 on DKSB at home against the Kings. With Rubio, Beasley and Jaylen Nowell all sidelined, Minnesota won’t have much back court depth. Edwards, Josh Okogie and Jarrett Culver will have to play most of those minutes. So with Russell likely on a minutes limit, there won’t really be a main distributor at point guard. We could see Karl-Anthony Towns just run the offense himself.
