After winning five in a row, the Mavericks have dropped three of four. Consistency has been an issue all season long and now the Mavs are faced with the reality of having to claw into the postseason via the play-in tournament. This game vs. the Grizz has big playoff implications. Dallas is just 1.5 games up on Memphis for the 7-seed in the West. The Mavs have major issues in the front court with Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber both dealing with injuries.

Since the end of March, the Grizzlies are 6-3 in their last nine games. Outside of the two losses over this past weekend, the Grizz have tightened things up on defense a bit. Memphis ranks 14th in points allowed per game at 111.5. The Grizzlies have been playing well despite PG Ja Morant struggling a bit. Morant is averaging 15.7 points and 7.1 assists per game in April. The Grizzlies are really leaning on C Jonas Valanciunas, who is averaging 22.0 points and 13.4 rebounds this month.
