NBA Skills Contest will feature ragtag group led by Luka Doncic, Chris Paul

Not many of the NBA’s most skilled players will be featured in this year’s skills contest.

The NBA Skills Contests has moved away from only featuring guards in recent years, and its latest installment will feature a ragtag group of players. Point guards will compete with frontcourt players will also attempt to showcase their all-around games. If you’re hoping to see all the world’s best ball-handlers and passers, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic are the only point guards included in the field. The two playmakers will face a slew of bigs, including Nikola Vucevic, Domantas Sabonis and Julius Randle. Robert Covington will also compete, and the Portland Trail Blazers swingman might be the least skilled player competing. More skilled bigs like Bam Adebayo and Kristaps Porzingis have won in recent years, so maybe the same will happen in 2021. It’d certainly be a lot more fun to watch if some of NBA’s craftier players were featured.
