The Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets will not play Friday as ongoing weather concerns in Texas continue, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on Thursday afternoon. As many of you know, the state of Texas is dealing with a pretty bad snowstorm this week.

Update: The Rockets will also have their game vs. the Indiana Pacers postponed on Saturday due to weather concerns.

The Mavericks already had their game against the Detroit Pistons at home on Wednesday postponed. So the Mavericks and Rockets game will be postponed due to bad conditions in Houston. The League officially announced the postponement, which is the 32nd game to be moved this season.

This is somewhat unfortunate news for the Mavericks, who won’t play any games this week due to weather and Covid-19 concerns. The Rockets could use the day off to get healthy. Victor Oladipo and PJ Tucker have been sidelined, plus John Wall and Eric Gordon have had nagging injuries. Houston is also without Christian Wood, who should be close to returning.
