The Warriors had two opportunities to make it into the 2021 NBA playoffs, but two play-in game losses kept them on the outside looking in. One of those losses came to the Lakers, who used some late heroics from LeBron James to help send Golden State into a do-or-die matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors are back with a few new weapons to complement Stephen Curry as they look to make a bigger splash this season.
The Lakers are coming into the season with DraftKings Sportsbook’s second-best championship odds despite being a first-round exit last postseason. LA enters the season a lot healthier than a year ago and has retooled their roster in a way that compares to their 2019-20 championship team. They’ll start their championship quest on Tuesday against a Warriors team that they defeated in the play-in game last season.
