Seth Curry was perfect from downtown in scoring 23 points in 15 minutes, and the Dallas Mavericks were able to come away with a 108-104 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in a scrimmage inside the NBA bubble in Orlando on Thursday. Luka Doncic put on an offensive display, while LeBron James and Anthony Davis both got into double figures in their first game action in the bubble. Boban laid down the hammer all game with a big double-double for Dallas. Here are some notable stats for each team:

Los Angeles Lakers stats

LeBron James: 12 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds
Anthony Davis: 12 points
Danny Green: 8 points
JaVale McGee: 13 points

Dallas Mavericks stats

Luka Doncic: 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
Kristaps Porzingis: 8 points
Boban Marjanovic: 17 points, 13 rebounds
Seth Curry: 23 points, 6-6 from 3-point range

Takeaways

We shouldn’t worry much about the performance from the Lakers. It’s a scrimmage and teams are trying to get back up to speed. I guess the one concern is at point guard, where we didn’t see Alex Caruso. Instead, we got a lot of Quinn Cook. Caruso is expected to be the backup PG behind LeBron for the Lakers. Cook could see minutes during the season restart if Caruso struggles.

The Mavericks looked great. Flat out. Curry was unconscious from downtown. Luka was making plays like it was back in December. BOBAN!!!! I mean, Dallas is one of those sneaky teams other teams around in the West standings will need to worry about. It’s a fresh slate and a lot of guys are hungry with a new start. Doncic and the Mavericks could be a sneaky, sleeper, long-shot Finals team.
