One of the most overlooked aspects of lineup building is the strategy behind the guard, forward and utility positions on DraftKings. These three roster spots add another layer of strategy to daily fantasy basketball, and most people don’t even realize it.
Maximizing the Productive Positions
The next piece of advice is to maximize the positions that are the most productive in daily fantasy basketball. Unlike some sites, where we are forced to take a certain number of players at each position, the guard, forward, and flex positions on DraftKings give us a wider range of options in each slate of games. We are able to roster any three players from the following positions: PG, SG, SF, and PF. We can also roster any two centers on any given slate.
One of my favorite strategies is to target three point guards, three power forwards, or two centers. These are typically the three deepest positions in daily fantasy basketball. With the roster structure on DraftKings, we can load up on these positions. The two-center approach is one that I like to use in tournaments, as most people tend overlook the ability to roster two centers. It can really help differentiate your lineups in big tournaments.
I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is Notorious) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above. I am not an employee of DraftKings and do not have access to any non-public information.
