Report: NBA to allow some practice facilities to open on May 1

In certain cities, teams will be allowed to have players work out individually in practice facilities.

The NBA plans to open their practice facilities to players in cities and states where local governments have eased stay-at-home orders, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Saturday evening. Teams will be allowed to bring players in to work out at facilities, but these will only be individual workouts. Teams won’t be allowed to have larger groups practice at the same time, per Woj.

Woj specifically cites Georgia as one of the states that is moving toward opening businesses, including gyms. This would allow the Atlanta Hawks to open their practice facility to give players the chance to get back into game shape. This doesn’t mean a return to the regular season is imminent, Woj adds.
