The NBA 2K Players Tournament comes to an end this weekend with the semifinals and final. We have an interesting group of players left over in the Final Four, a pair of teammates looking to be crowned 2K20 Champion. In one matchup, we have Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker going up against Clippers power forward Montrezl Harrell. In the other, Suns center Deandre Ayton gets to take on trash-talking guard Patrick Beverley. In half of the outcomes, we get a matchup of teammates. In the other half, we get what would be two competitive 2K matches. Let’s take a look at the TV schedule and bracket for the semifinals and final.
NBA 2K Players Tournament Bracket
UPDATE: The semifinals got start at 5 p.m. not 8 p.m.
The semifinals begin at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN. The matches usually last around an hour and are pre-taped. If the final is also pre-taped, the Final will take place after both semifinal matchups. Here’s the remaining bracket and seeds:
(5) Devin Booker vs. (8) Montrezl Harrell
(10) Deandre Ayton vs. (14) Patrick Beverley
Booker, Ayton and Harrell all had a relatively easy time making it into the semifinals. Derrick Jones Jr. gave Harrell a bit of a scare at the end, but ultimately it was too little, too late. Beverley was down big to Andre Drummond in the quarterfinals on Thursday night and was able to rally to pull out the victory. I know seeding means pretty much nothing in this tournament, but he’s the Cinderella Story we all needed during these tough times.
Booker and Ayton are known for gaming and we’ve seen both perform throughout the tourney. Trae Young had a lot of hype going into the quarters and Ayton took care of Trae pretty easily. Booker displayed a lot of savvy against Rui Hachimura, switching up assignments in the settings to get an edge and rally in the third quarter to pull away. My initial thoughts on picks would be Booker vs. Beverley in the final. Ayton is really good, but Beverley seems to be driven by forces we can’t control. He’s a man on a mission. He’s going to trash talk and get in your head. I don’t know if the youngster Ayton is ready.
