The Charlotte Hornets and F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are finalizing a contract buyout, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon reported Saturday.
Reporting with @espn_macmahon: Charlotte is finalizing a contract buyout with F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Dallas has emerged as a possible destination once MKG clears waivers.

The report states that MKG could land with the Mavericks after the buyout is completed. The Mavs could use some help on defense on the wing and more depth doesn’t hurt. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis have dealt with injuries this season and Dwight Powell is done for the year.
