The Atlanta Hawks have waived F Chandler Parsons, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday morning.
Atlanta is waiving Chandler Parsons and his expiring $25.1M contract to create roster space to complete four-team trade, league sources tell ESPN.

As Woj mentions, this is a move to clear up a roster spot after Tuesday night’s 12-man trade involving four teams. The Hawks picked up Clint Capela and Nene from the Rockets and needed one spot to accommodate both.
Parsons is in the midst of a lawsuit after being hit by a drunk driver, causing him to suffer multiple injuries which were career-threatening. It’s unsure if Parsons will return to the NBA this season or in the future.
