Meyers Leonard to start ahead of Moe Harkless vs. Pelicans on Christmas

The Heat are going with a bigger lineup to match-up against the Pelicans front court of Zion Williamson and Steven Adams.

The Miami Heat are making a minor change to their starting lineup for their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Christmas Day. Meyers Leonard will enter the starting lineup in place of Moe Harkless, who would come off the bench. Leonard will start at center while Bam Adebayo will shift over to power forward.

This move is likely due to the size the Pelicans have in the front court with Zion Williamson and Steven Adams. Instead of matching up Harkless on Zion, Adebayo should see most of Williamson today. Leonard is a 7-footer who can match-up better against Adams. Leonard ($3,400 on DraftKings) may or may not see increased run depending on if he can stay out of foul trouble. The Heat lack size off the bench now with Leonard in there, though they could use more Kelly Olynyk ($4,100) if Leonard or Adebayo get into foul trouble.

Leonard may be a decent tournament pivot right now with around 20 minutes until lock at 12:00 p.m. ET. He’ll have very low ownership despite the news with lineups likely not adjusting to him starting. Leonard would still carry a decent amount of risk but could offer leverage and is cheap enough to not need a ton of fantasy points to return value. It’s also nice because he’s right in Maxi Kleber’s ($3,500) price range, which is where a lot of the ownership in terms of value will lean.
