The third Ball brother is inking a deal with an NBA team. LiAngelo Ball has agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Detroit Pistons, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Wednesday afternoon. So all three Ball brothers could be in the NBA this upcoming season. LaMelo Ball was just drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and Lonzo Ball is heading into another season with the New Orleans Pelicans.

LiAngelo is signing an exhibit 10 contract, which basically guarantees that LiAngelo will have a training camp invite. If the Pistons decide to send Ball to their G-League affiliate, he’ll receive a $50,000 bonus. They need to play for said affiliate for 60 days for the bonus to kick in.

Ball spent last season playing in the G-League for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s affiliate. The Blue had one game before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19. Prior to that, Ball played for the Los Angeles Ballers in the Junior Basketball Association, basically a League that was run by his father, LaVar Ball. For what it’s worth, LiAngelo won JBA Finals MVP and helped his team win the ship in 2018.

The Pistons have a pretty crowded roster after being very active in free agency. Ball will get a shot at training camp to compete for a spot on the 15-man roster, but chances are he’ll end up in the G-League. That would mean Ball should join the Grand Rapids Drive, which is expected to be changed to the Motor City Cruise starting in 2021.
