The two were flying with three other people when the helicopter went down in Calabasas, California en route to a travel basketball game for Gianna. The crash occurred before 10:00 a.m. in foggy conditions, according to the Los Angeles Times. The plane crashed into the mountains and created a small brush fire that made it difficult for emergency personnel to get to the helicopter, per the Times.
All five people have been confirmed dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department. There is no word yet on the identities of the other three victims.
UPDATE: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department held a press conference Sundaya afternoon to confirm there were no survivors, and added that nine people were on board.
