Anthony Davis needs IV, has big game anyway in Lakers win

The big man shook off flu-like symptoms with 25 points and 10 rebounds to help lead LA to a road win over the Nuggets.

Anthony Davis is still early in his career, but he already has something in common with Michael Jordan. Well, sort of. AD needed an IV for flu-like symptoms during the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Despite the sickness, he had his “flu game” of sorts, dropping 25 points and 10 rebounds in the 105-96 victory on the road. Sure, it wasn’t in the NBA Finals, but it was a matchup between the two top teams in the Western Conference, so that’s something. The flu has apparently been going around the entire league and the Lakers were the latest victim, with Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo also feeling less than stellar.

From a fantasy perspective, the performance really wasn’t all that, Davis finished with 42.5 fantasy points at a $9,600 price tag on DraftKings. Really none of the Lakers overperformed their salaries much, and if you faded this game entirely, that was probably a good call. Even LeBron James had an off night in fantasy, though a decent night by his standards in the win.
