Damian Lillard ruled out for Thursday’s game vs. the Bucks

The Portland Trail Blazers have already ruled out point guard Damian Lillard (back) for Thursday night’s game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lillard was a surprise name on the injury report Tuesday, sitting out of the Blazers’ loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. It was clear, though, that the injury was affecting the All-Star; Dame had been shooting a combined 10-of-46 from the field in three games prior to being ruled out Tuesday. Hopefully the rest will help him get right, but let’s look at how to approach Thursday night (bars).

Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Portland Trail Blazers PG Damian Lillard

With Dame vs. NOLA, CJ McCollum led the way with 22 points on 9-of-22 shooting with four 3’s. CJ returned value on DK at $7,800 with 42 FPTS, but it was a somewhat underwhelming performance. Speaking of underwhelming, Carmelo Anthony was pretty awful in his Blazers’ debut, but who didn’t see that coming? Melo soaked up 33.7% usage, scoring 10 points on 4-of-14 shooting. Both players should continue to lead the way in usage for the Blazers with Dame out vs. the Bucks.

Overall, you can’t like many plays on Portland’s roster against Milwaukee. The Bucks will be on the second of a back-to-back but they are also one of the best teams in the NBA defensively. On a two game slate though, we don’t have much choice but to roll with the punches. Take the value on the Blazers and look for studs on the other three teams.
