UPDATE: Andrew Wiggins (illness) will start tonight’s game vs. the Utah Jazz.

Minnesota Timberwolves swing man Andrew Wiggins (illness) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday’s game vs. the Utah Jazz. Wiggins has missed the past three games due to the illness, but has a shot at returning tonight it seems. Also notable, Jake Layman has been ruled out due to a foot injury, though he was considered doubtful anyway.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Minnesota Timberwolves SG/SF Andrew Wiggins

If Wiggins returns, obviously he’s a fine play in season-long formats given how well he was scoring prior to his absence. Wiggins had scored at least 30 points in four of five games prior to being out. He was seeing big usage despite Karl-Anthony Towns being 100% healthy.

In DFS, on DraftKings Wiggins is priced at $7,600 for a tough matchup vs. the Jazz, who are ranked in the top 5 in the NBA in defensive efficiency. Still, if Wiggins plays, he’ll likely be 100% given it’s an illness, not a specific injury. So this leads me to believe Wiggins is a decent GPP play on a heavy slate, though he carries a lot of risk.

Right now on DK Sportsbook, the TImberwolves are underdogs at +3 at home, which is an interesting spot. If Wiggins returns, they’re obviously in a better position to win and just defeated Utah on the road by 10 points. I’d be all over this spread while Minny is getting points.
