We go over some of the best betting options for Friday’s matchup between the Kings and Hawks.

New Year’s weekend in the NBA will tip off this evening and Friday’s slate will feature the Sacramento Kings visiting the Atlanta Hawks at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Sacramento (17-12) has dropped three of its last four games and were last roasted by the Trail Blazers in a 130-113 loss on Tuesday. The team lost despite a 43-point effort from De’Aaron Fox. Atlanta (12-18) is also in a bit of a funk with a three-game losing streak and were bested by the Bulls in a 118-113 setback on Tuesday. This was a tight ballgame late and DeMar DeRozan was able to give the Bulls the edge with a four-point outburst in the final minute.

On the injury front, De’Andre Hunter (knee) will miss his fourth straight game for the Hawks.

Atlanta enters the game as a 1-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 252. This game is practically a pick ‘em on the moneyline with the Hawks listed at -115 and the Kings listed at -105.

Kings vs. Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Kings +1

One of these teams has to break out of their respective slumps tonight and I’m inclined to lean towards Sacramento this evening. Atlanta has been gashed for 123.6 ppg in its last 10 outings and may be in for a long evening when going up against the likes of Fox and Sabonis. On top of that, the Hawks are a poor 0-8 against the spread as the home favorite this season.

Over/Under: Over 252

This has the makings of an offensive sprint with both teams cracking 125 points tonight. I expect a final score in the ballpark of 134-127, so I’m taking the over.
