MLB lineups for Tuesday, May 16: Jazz Chisholm, Ryan Mountcastle among early sits

We’ve got a full 15-game slate on Tuesday, May 16, so let’s get right to the daily lineup report and keep you up to date and who’s in the lineup and who’s riding the bench.

MLB starting lineups: Tuesday, May 16

Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles, 6:35 p.m. ET

Mickey Moniak leads off again and will start in right, with Matt Thaiss catching and Gio Urshela manning third in lieu of the injured Anthony Rendon.

Ryan O’Hearn will get a start at DH as Ryan Mountcastle sits and Anthony Santander plays first base.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Detroit Tigers, 6:40 p.m. ET

Andrew McCutchen shifts up to the leadoff spot and will serve as the DH for Pittsburgh with Ke’Bryan Hayes moving down to fifth, Tucupita Marcano spelling Rodolfo Castro at short and Josh Palacios filling in for Connor Joe in right.

Zack McKinstry will lead off once again with Nick Maton at short and Akil Baddoo in left.

Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins, 6:40 p.m. ET

Lane Thomas continues to lead off against lefties while Alex Call and Stone Garrett fill out the other two outfield spots.

Garrett Hampson leads off and spells Jazz Chisholm as the Marlins star sees a specialist about his turf toe. Peyton Burdick gets a start in right for the injured Jesus Sanchez with Joey Wendle at short and Jean Segura at third.

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays, 7:07 p.m. ET

Gleyber Torres gets a rare shot at the leadoff spot as Anthony Volpe drops down to sixth in the order. Jake Bauers and Oswaldo Cabrera man the corner outfield spots as Aaron Judge gets a night at DH, while DJ LeMahieu starts at first and Anthony Rizzo sits.

Cavan Biggio will get a start in right field with George Springer serving as the DH, Kenley Jansen catching and Alejandro Kirk getting a night off.

Seattle Mariners vs. Boston Red Sox, 7:10 p.m. ET

J.P. Crawford remains in the leadoff spot with Taylor Trammell getting another start at DH and Kolten Wong over Jose Caballero at second base.

Masataka Yoshida returns in left after a day off with Justin Turner at DH, Enmanuel Valdez at second and Denyi Reyes once again spelling the injured Enrique Hernandez at short.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET

Harold Ramirez will lead off and play first for the injured Yandy Diaz while Brandon Lowe gets a start at second and Josh Lowe serves as the DH. No Luke Raley or Taylor Walls tonight for Tampa.

Tommy Pham will serve as the DH once again while Brett Baty returns to the lineup at third base and Francisco Alvarez gets another start behind the plate.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals, 7:45 p.m. ET

Owen Miller starts in left and leads off with Christian Yelich nursing a balky back, while Mike Brosseau plays first and Darin Ruf serves as the DH as Rowdy Tellez gets a night off.

Lars Nootbaar leads off despite a lefty on the mound for Milwaukee, with Paul DeJong starting at short and batting fifth and Willson Contreras serving as the DH. Nolan Gorman gets a start at second with Tommy Edman and Brendan Donovan serving as the corner outfielders.

Atlanta Braves vs. Texas Rangers, 8:05 p.m. ET

Eddie Rosario serves as the DH and Sam Hilliard gets a start in left as Marcell Ozuna sits and Orlando Arcia mans shortstop.

Business as usual for the Rangers, with Robbie Grossman batting second and starting in left and Sam Huff serving as the DH rather than Josh Smith with a lefty on the mound.

Chicago Cubs vs. Houston Astros, 8:10 p.m. ET

Unsurprisingly, no Cody Bellinger tonight for the Cubs less than 24 hours after he tweaked his knee making a leaping catch at the wall. Christopher Morel will take over in center and bat third while Miles Mastrobuoni plays second and Nick Madrigal spells Patrick Wisdom at third.

Chas McCormick is feeling good enough to start in center while Corey Julks mans left to give Yordan Alvarez a night as the DH.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox, 8:10 p.m. ET

With Jose Ramirez on the bereavement list, Gabriel Arias will start at third base with Will Brennan in right.

Yoan Moncada makes another start at third base with Jake Burger serving as the DH and Gavin Sheets in right field.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Colorado Rockies, 8:40 p.m. ET

Matt McLain will play short and bat second once again with Tyler Stephenson at DH, Curt Casali behind the plate and Stuart Fairchild playing center for the injured TJ Friedl.

Michael Toglia will make his first start of the year filling in for the injured C.J. Cron, batting sixth and playing first base while Mike Moustakas shifts to third. Elias Diaz returns behind the plate while Charlie Blackmon serves as the DH and Kris Bryant sits.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Oakland Athletics, 9:40 p.m. ET

Josh Rojas sits down tonight with Evan Longoria manning third and Emmanuel Rivera serving as the DH. Dominic Fletcher gets the start in left flanked by Corbin Carroll and Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Aledmys Diaz will bat third and start at third in his return to the lineup, with Jesus Aguilar getting a start at first over Ryan Noda with a lefty on the mound. JJ Bleday will also sit as Brent Rooker and Ramon Laureano handle the corner outfield spots.

Kansas City Royals vs. San Diego Padres, 9:40 p.m. ET

Salvador Perez gets a day at DH with Freddy Fermin behind the plate while Maikel Garcia is up to fifth in the batting order now. Edward Olivares, MJ Melendez and Nate Eaton comprise the outfield with Matt Duffy getting a start at second base.

No Manny Machado after he took a pitch off the hand last night, as Ha-Seong Kim will slide over to third with Rougned Odor starting at second. Matt Carpenter will serve as the DH.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants, 9:45 p.m. ET

Kody Clemens gets a start at first base for the Phils with Alec Bohm sliding back over to third and Brandon Marsh in center.
