The 2021 MLB trade deadline is shaping up to be an exciting one, with several teams already making moves to bolster their title chances. The San Diego Padres added All-Star Adam Frazier as they look to make noise in the NL West and the Tampa Bay Rays bringing in a big bat with Nelson Cruz. The Rays sent Rich Hill to the New York Mets in a separate deal.

Chicago Cubs stars Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez have been the center of trade deadline talk on the North Side. The Seattle Mariners may be buyers after a recent hot streak, reportedly focusing on Kansas City Royals utility man Whit Merrifield. The Texas Rangers will get a lot of calls on SP Kyle Gibson, who has a 2.87 ERA in 19 starts.

The Washington Nationals could also look to move veteran ace Max Scherzer before the deadline on Friday afternoon. The New York Yankees are expected to be active before 4 p.m. ET, looking to add another arm, a bullpen arm and a bat to the mix to try and get back on track and reach the postseason.
