The Colorado Rockies are the latest MLB team to have a Covid-19 outbreak. It appears four players are in Covid-19 health and safety protocols, including SP Antonio Senzatela, who was slated to start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. Chi Chi Gonzalez will take Senzatela’s spot on the hill against LA to begin the second half. Along with Senzatela, P Jhoulys Chacin, P Yency Almonte and OF Yonathan Daza are all in protocols.

Formal announcement not made yet.
The Rockies have recalled four players from AAA to take those spots on the roster. It isn’t anyone too impactful, though Senzatela could be out and miss an additional start if he’s on your fantasy baseball team. This news comes just a day after the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox had to cancel Thursday’s game due to an outbreak for New York. Aaron Judge was among the Yankees players who tested positive and was placed in health and safety protocols. As a result, the Yanks are down a significant portion of their lineup.
Colorado had just hosted the All-Star Game earlier in the week on Monday and Tuesday. There’s a chance some players were impacted or there were people within the organization and ballpark during the ASG that were affected. This is just speculation, though it’s clear players who were at the ASG tested positive and now it’s impacted multiple teams as the League begins the second half of the season.
We’ll see if this has an impact on whether or not the Rockies and Dodgers play on Friday night. The game is set for 8:40 p.m. ET.
