The Cardinals took Game 1 of this series on Monday night with a 7-1 win. Wade LeBlanc got some help from rookie Dylan Carlson, SS Paul DeJong and veteran catcher Yadier Molina, who combined to drive in six of the Cards’ seven runs in the victory. The D-Backs continue to be far-and-away the worst team in baseball, dropping to 22-58 on the season. The Cardinals improved to 38-41, but are still 8.0 games back of first place in the NL Central.
