Nationals LF Kyle Schwarber mashes leadoff dinger for 23rd HR of season, adds 24th in fifth inning [VIDEO]

Schwarber went deep in the first against the New York Mets to open the scoring. It was his 14th HR in the past 17 games. He added another one four innings later.

UPDATE — Schwarber adds his 15th home run in the past 17 games in the fifth inning against the Mets. The outfielder now has 24 home runs on the season.

Kyle Schwarber continues to smash home runs in a crazy run for the Washington Nationals outfielder. He went yard in the first inning against the New York Mets for his 14th home run in the last 17 games.

Schwarber entered the game hitting .276 in June with 13 home runs and 27 RBIs. He currently has 23 home runs on the season, good for fourth in MLB.
