Twins-White Sox game rained out Monday night

There’s rain in Chicago, so the Twins and White Sox won’t play their series opener on Monday night.

MLB: AUG 12 Astros at White Sox

The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox game on Monday night has been postponed due to rain in Chicago. The pitching matchup was supposed to be Kenta Maeda vs. Lucas Giolito, which would have been decent. Instead, the series opener will be moved to a later date. We’ll see if this means the two teams play a day-night double-header on Tuesday or if the game is moved later in the season. Update: The two teams will play a double-header later in the season on July 19th.

The Twins entered Monday at the bottom of the AL Central at 33-43, tied with the Kansas City Royals for the worst record in the division. The White Sox are in first place in the AL Central at 45-32, 2.5 games up on the Cleveland Indians. Minnesota has played better baseball lately, winning seven of the past 10 games overall.
