Major League Baseball is a month away from its annual All-Star Game, and the league unveiled the first round of voting results on June 14. Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads all vote-getters with 857,956 votes. Kain first round of MLB all-star balloting. Ronald Acuña is second with 834,287 votes, and Mike Trout is third with 706,503 votes.
This year, MLB is holding a two-phase voting process to determine who makes the All Star team and who will be a starter. Phase one runs through June 24th and the top three vote-getters at each position and top nine outfielders will advance to phase two. That second phase will last from noon ET on Monday, June 28, through 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 1 to determine the starters.
Below are results broken down into percentage by position. MLB.com Thomas Harrigan split them up from the raw vote totals. The top three (and top nine for outfield) are the ones who would advance to phase two, with No. 4 and 5 (or No. 10 and 11 for outfield) on the outside looking in.
