We have a full 15-game slate in the majors Sunday, beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET. Before first pitch between the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals, we’ll take a look at the best games on the schedule, rookies to keep an eye out for, and spotlight a relevant fantasy option.
Best Games To Watch
For it to be end of the week in the majors, we have a few good games to watch throughout the day along with the NBA playoffs. At 1:05 p.m. ET, the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies will wrap up their short two-game series on MLB Network. Domingo German (4-3, 3.22 ERA) will get the start for the Yankees, while Aaron Nola (4-4, 4.06 ERA) will be on the mound for the Phillies.
We also have Shane Bieber on the mound for the Cleveland Indians as they play the Seattle Mariners at 1:10 p.m. ET. Carlos Rodon will be starting for the Chicago White Sox at 1:10 p.m. ET as they wrap up their series against the Detroit Tigers. To end the night on ESPN, the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will be under the lights at 7:15 for Sunday night baseball.
Fantasy Spotlight
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continues to make his case on why he should be the American League MVP. Guerrero clubbed his major league leading 20th HR against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday afternoon. For his efforts, the young first baseman scored 23 fantasy points, making him one of the highest valued players at the position. It is hard to not roster him in your DFS lineup on a daily basis.
Rookies to Watch
Seattle Mariners rookie pitcher Logan Gilbert will be making his fifth big league start on Sunday afternoon against Cleveland. Gilbert, who is one of the top pitching prospects in the Mariners’ organization has put together two consecutive quality starts against the A’s and Angels. In his outing against the Angels, the young pitcher threw a career-high seven strikeouts in 5.0 IP and only gave up 2 hits (1 HR), and 1 earned run.
