Start times for Thursday’s 10 game MLB slate will range from 1:05 p.m. ET to 9:38 p.m. ET. This is a step down from Wednesday’s 16-game slate, but there’s still plenty to keep track of. We’ve identified some of the best games, fantasy options, and rookies to watch.
Best Game To Watch
The American League Central race is extremely tight and three teams have 16-13 records. Two of them — The Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Indians — will face off on Thursday for a chance to take the lead. The Indians have won the first two games of the series but will start Triston McKenzie against the Royals. Kansas City has the eighth-best batting average (.241) in MLB and can take advantage of an unproven pitcher.
Fantasy Spotlight
The Oakland Athletic’s Mike Fiers will get his second start of the season on Thursday. While he was activated because of how ineffective other starters have been, he hasn’t shown that he can be much better than the other arms in his team’s rotation. He gave up three home runs to the Baltimore Orioles in six innings in April and will face a Toronto Blue Jays lineup that scored nine runs against the A’s on Wednesday.
Rookies to Watch
The Miami Marlins’ Jazz Chisholm has cooled off some at the plate but is still batting .290 with seven RBIs and four home runs. He’s notched three hits, three stone bases, and scored two runs in the first two games of his team’s series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
